Privacy Policy
1. What this policy covers
Juneja Inc., doing business as Akraeus (“Akraeus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operates the Akraeus website, application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how Juneja Inc. collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the Service.
2. Your Documents and AI Training (We do not train on your data)
Because Akraeus is designed to analyze contracts, legal notices, and compliance documents, how we handle your uploaded files is our top priority.
- No Model Training: Akraeus does not use the documents you upload, the questions you ask, or the answers generated to train AI models. Our managed AI provider does not use customer data to train or fine-tune its models without permission.
- Protected Infrastructure: We process documents using managed cloud services. Customer data is logically separated by organization and protected by authentication and access controls.
- Data Deletion: You can delete any document and its associated conversation history from your account at any time. Deletion removes the content from your account and initiates removal from our active systems. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or recovery systems according to provider retention schedules or legal requirements.
3. Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication identifiers. Authentication credentials are processed by our authentication provider.
- Customer Content: PDF documents you upload, questions you submit, and the conversation history generated by the Service.
- Payment Information: If you purchase a Starter pack or subscribe to a plan, your payment details are processed directly by our secure payment provider (e.g., Stripe). We do not store or process full credit card numbers on our servers.
- Usage & Diagnostic Data: We automatically collect standard diagnostic telemetry, such as IP addresses, browser types, device information, and interaction metrics to ensure the Service functions correctly and to troubleshoot errors.
- Cookies and Local Storage: We use essential cookies and local storage tokens to maintain your active authentication session, protect against security threats, and remember your interface preferences. You can adjust your browser settings to decline cookies, though certain features of the Service may not function as intended.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve the functionality of the Service.
- To securely process your documents and generate accurate, cited answers.
- To process payments and manage billing for your Starter, Plus, Pro, or Team plans.
- To communicate with you regarding account updates, security alerts, and customer support.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data or uploaded documents to third parties, nor do we share them for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Sharing of information
We only share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Service. These include:
- Cloud Hosting & AI Providers: We use cloud providers, including Google Cloud, to host our infrastructure and process natural language. They process customer data under their applicable service terms and data-protection commitments. Managed AI customer data is not used to train or fine-tune models without permission.
- Payment Processors: To facilitate secure billing and subscription management.
- Business Transfers: In the event that Juneja Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, customer accounts and information may be transferred as part of that transaction, under terms consistent with this Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or ensure the safety of our users.
6. Data security and international transfers
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your data. Data is encrypted in transit and our cloud providers encrypt stored data at rest. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Data Transfers: Our servers and primary operations are located in the United States. If you access or use the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your data will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our cloud infrastructure providers maintain operations.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why we process it. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it, subject to limited retention in backups, security logs, and records required by law.
8. Your choices and rights
Account settings let you update certain account information and delete documents, conversations, or an eligible account. To request access to or an export of your information and Customer Content, or to exercise other applicable rights, contact us. Depending on your jurisdiction (such as under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights, including the right to restrict processing, request a structured copy of your data, or withdraw consent.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for collecting and processing personal information will typically be either to perform our contract with you (delivering the Service), to pursue legitimate interests that do not override your fundamental rights, or with your express consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
9. Children's privacy
Akraeus is a professional software tool intended for business and commercial use, and is not directed at children or individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that an account has been created by or personal data collected from anyone under the age of 18, we will promptly deactivate the account and delete that information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or regulatory requirements. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by placing a prominent notice within the Service prior to the change becoming effective.
